Implementation of Action Plan for Support of Culture Has Been Launched

In order to reduce the negative consequences for creators and cultural organisations as a result of the declared emergency and quarantine, the Ministry of Culture has prepared a preliminary action plan of support for the field of culture.

Nordic-Baltic Ministers, Governors of the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB), have today invited the Bank to take swift action to help alleviate the effects from the corona crisis

The Governors urge the Bank to increase lending to the maximum level to businesses in the region affected by the crisis. In this way, the Bank can support stabilization of the economy in the Nordic-Baltic countries.

Isolation can be permitted at places of choice

After the meeting of the Situation Management Committee of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, new decisions and some changes were announced by the State-level Emergency Operations Chief regarding isolation requirements of people who came back to Lithuania from abroad.

The hot line will be enhanced by a team of doctors

The patients whose coronavirus (COVID-19) tests were taken at mobile points will be informed and consulted by a team of doctors on Hotline 1808. This procedure will ensure that infected patients will learn their diagnosis more quickly. It will also allow doctors to immediately assess information about the patient's condition according to their symptoms and decide on their future treatment.

More opportunities for psychological help to the public and to medical professionals

During the pandemic of coronavirus infection (COVID-19), psychologists of the mental health centers and emotional support lines will provide more accessible confidential psychological help to the public. A new voluntary psychological assistance initiative is also opening for medical professionals.

The Government has extended the transit period (Until 13 April 2020, 24:00)

The Government has decided today that the transit of persons returning to their country of residence through the territory of the Republic of Lithuania without a necessary stop, in formed groups of persons or vehicles with ensured compulsory escort (convoy) of these groups from the entry into the Republic of Lithuania to the international border crossing points will be allowed until the end of the quarantine, i.e. 13 April 2020, 24:00.

Legal Status of Foreigners in the Republic of Lithuania during the Quarantine

The Migration Department informs that foreigners, whose period of legal residence in Lithuania expired during the declared quarantine and who were unable to depart from the Republic of Lithuania in due time through no fault of their own, will not be subject to the return decisions, as well as administrative liability for illegal stay.

The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania, in cooperation with the Government and other responsible bodies, is making every effort to minimize the impact of the coronavirus on culture and creative professionals working in the sector.
