The Ministry of Health has updated the list of countries whose citizens or persons legally residing in them may enter Lithuania. With the epidemiological situation in Spain having deteriorated, the entry of foreigners from this country will be banned as of Monday, while Lithuanian citizens returning from Spain will be required to stay in isolation for 14 days.
The same procedure is applied with regard to Luxembourg, Romania, Sweden, Bulgaria, Portugal, and Croatia.
Isolation is also mandatory for all arrivals from Belgium, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Switzerland.
The list, approved by the decision of the Commander of Operations, is valid as of Monday, 27 July, and will be updated next week.
The Ministry of Health recalls that this procedure applies to foreigners from the countries of the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
As of Monday (27 July), the affected areas are considered to be countries with the coronavirus infection incidence rate exceeding 16 cases per 100,000 population over the last 14 days. The incidence rate has been reduced in order to coordinate border-opening policies with the other Baltic states and the European Union.
Lithuania’s incidence of coronavirus infection has risen from 2.8 to 3.7 during the week, but we still remain on the list of reliable countries. This means that Lithuanian citizens, as before, are allowed to arrive from any country.
