The Ministry of Health has updated the list of ‘safe countries’ with no restrictions on arrivals as of 6 June. The deteriorating epidemiological situation in Luxembourg is preventing the citizens of this country and persons lawfully residing there from the entry to Lithuania. The virus situation in the Czech Republic is also worsening but entry is still allowed with recommended self-isolation.
High incidence of COVID-19 (coronavirus infection) will continue to prevent entry of the citizens and lawful residents of Portugal and Sweden.
According to the Ministry of Health, this will be applicable in the case of foreigners from the European Economic Area, Switzerland, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Foreigners from third countries may come to Lithuania only if they have a permission form the competent Lithuanian authorities, depending on the nature of the issue: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Social Security and Labour, etc.
The list of ‘safe countries’ is subject to weekly updates depending on the epidemiological situation.
As before, Lithuanian citizens are allowed to come back from any country. However, the arrivals from the list of affected countries, i.e. where the 14-day incidence of coronavirus infection is higher than 25 cases per 100 000 population, will fall subject to 14-days’ mandatory isolation.
