Self-isolation required for arrivals from 58 worst hit countries

The Ministry of Health has updated the list of countries most affected by coronavirus infection (COVID-19). Self-isolation will be mandatory for those coming from the listed countries. The list applies to the residents of our country returning to Lithuania and to those foreigners who hold a permission to enter Lithuania. As per the extended list of most affected countries, self-isolation will also be mandatory for arrivals from Ukraine, Luxembourg, Serbia and Montenegro.

The Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe have been removed from the list, and nine other countries and territories without the status of a state have been added: Central African Republic, Montenegro, Costa Rica, Luxembourg, Palestine, the Sahara Arab Democratic Republic, Serbia, Turks and Caicos Islands and Ukraine. This list becomes effective as of 6 July.

Countries with the coronavirus incidence rate over 25 cases per 100 000 population in the last 14 days are regarded as virus-affected.

Travellers returning or arriving from the countries on the list of the affected countries must register within 24 hours by submitting their details to the National Public Health Centre. These arrivals will fall subject to 14 days’ isolation, even in that case where the affected country was passed through in transit. The same applies in the case of Lithuanians returning from these countries and foreigners with entry permission.

The list of most affected countries is subject to weekly updates depending on the epidemiological situation.
