On a proposal from the Ministry of Health, today the Government has extended the quarantine for another two weeks, until 27 April, 12:00 a.m.

“We hope that it will be possible to start thinking about easing the quarantine conditions after Easter – first of all, for small businesses. Provided we all manage to go through the Easter weekend properly. Therefore, once again, I ask for a responsible attitude towards yourselves and others. Stay at home, do not visit parents, grandparents or relatives living in other cities. Comply with the conditions of quarantine, it is highly important”, says Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis.

Additional stricter restrictions will apply in the country this upcoming Easter weekend. To minimise movement and avoid gatherings during the holidays, people’s travel to cities and towns outside the municipality of their residence will be restricted from 10 April 8:00 p.m. until 13 April 8:00 p.m.

Exceptions will apply to those travelling to another city due to the death of close relatives, work when the place of work is in another municipality, or to provide necessary medical care. Owners of real estate outside the municipality of their residence will be able to go there.

The ban on the operation of shops, shopping and entertainment centres and marketplaces remains in force, with the exception of food trade and other exemptions. The decree allows sale of plants for planting, seeds and fertilizers in specialised outdoor stationary sales outlets.

Electronic signature issuance services are also permitted when provided in general food stores, shopping and/or entertainment centres.
